Why the WEB.

The WEB is in the public domain. That mattered more than anything else: it means no licence stands between a reader and Scripture, and no permission is required to quote it. The one condition is on the name: “World English Bible” is eBible.org’s trademark and may only be used for unmodified text — which is why we serve it verbatim and never paraphrase it.

It is a faithful modern English translation, freely available, and it carries no cost that would ever have to be passed on. When WellDone GFS began, it was the best option available on those terms.

Other editions have since been added, in other languages. The WEB remains where the platform started.
