Accessibility
Built to be used with eyes closed.
Most faith and journaling apps assume sight. We don't. The reflection ritual is an act of speaking your day aloud — it belongs to anyone with a voice, regardless of vision or motor ability.
We target WCAG 2.2 AA, with AAA contrast on body text in our parchment palette. We haven't commissioned a formal third-party audit yet; if you find something that falls short, please tell us and we'll treat it as a release-blocker.
Voice-first reflection
Tap the microphone to dictate your three sentences using your browser's Web Speech API, with a typed fallback whenever speech recognition isn't available.
Read-aloud responses
Scripture and reflection are spoken using your device's built-in text-to-speech voices, with per-user voice, rate, and pitch controls.
Plain language
Turn on Plain Language in the accessibility panel and AI reflections are generated with short sentences, common words, and no idioms — designed with Deaf and English-as-second-language readers in mind.
Screen-reader labeling
Semantic landmarks, labeled controls, and aria-live regions on streaming AI responses, dictation status, and toasts. Verified against VoiceOver on macOS and iOS during development.
Keyboard-only flows
Primary actions are reachable without a mouse and use visible focus rings. If you find one that isn't, please tell us.
High-contrast theme
One-tap high-contrast mode with bolder focus rings. Persists across sessions.
Large-text & XL modes
Two larger-text modes that scale the entire interface, not just the body.
Reduced motion
Ambient animations and transitions collapse to instant fades when reduced motion is on (either the OS setting or the in-app toggle).
In progress
Honestly not there yet.
These are things we've committed to but haven't fully shipped. We'd rather list them here than pretend they're finished.
ASL interpretation — in production, coming soon
The ASL mode toggle is live in the accessibility panel, and the player is wired up. Filmed interpretations are being recorded and added gradually; until a clip exists for a given piece of content, the UI shows a 'coming soon' note in its place.
'Hey WellDone' wake phrase — not yet available
Voice-activated navigation is on the roadmap. Today, dictation is triggered by pressing the microphone button.
Daily call digest — not yet available
An optional morning phone call reading yesterday's reflection and today's verse is planned for users who don't use screens. It will be free, like the rest of the app.
